Josh stops in at Mema's, borrows some cat food for Prissy & Max, leaves without giving her his usual hug, hesitates a few times, then drives away. Josh eventually ends up in Shippensburg at his brother Winston's apartment for a bachelor party for his step cousin, Mike Richie. Josh and his friend Joe Stevenson, slip away unnoticed, and unbuckled and head back north towards Carlisle via Interstate 81. |

Josh calls his Mom at 3:30 from 111 Stafford Court in Mechanicsburg to just catch up and say hi. Before we say goodbye he says, "Mom, my cats are so cool! " I say "bye, hun" and not "I love you" and I don't know why. This was the our last conversation. |

Uncle Oop and Aunt Carol have a Labor Day party at thier house. Josh shows up after work from Carlisle Chrysler Jeep. This is Josh's last semi family gathering. Josh asks me and the Hulstine gang to sing karaoke "Stairway to Heaven". This is the last time that Emily sees her brother Joshua.

Aunt Pam (who was living in Manhatten at the time) sleeps through it all and has myself and Mema and Josh frantic with worry. |
